The NHS ran a great anti cigarette smoking campaign in 2007 to motivate people who smoke and to rubbish bin the behavior. The stunning images had been of people literally impaled in fish hooks suggesting they were not in control and were being dragged about by their habit. It was probably the most famous campaigns in 3 years ago with a big 90% consciousness amongst smokers (The NHS). The advertising campaign follows the consistency rule in which persons try to maintain consistency among three pieces of an attitude: affective, behavioural and cognitive. Although the campaign is very striking and memorable, it might be argued the clever photos would not actually want to make a smoker bin their behavior.
